Liveaboard Maldives 2024

On the 16th of March 2024 it was the day that I traveled to the Maldives for my first liveaboard.

After a good flight I step aboard on the Southeren Cross.

About the southern Cross:

  • Length: 38 meters/124 feet, beam: 11 meters/36 feet
  • No. of passengers: 20 to 22 People
  • 8 double and 3 triple cabins with individually controlled air-conditioning
  • Spacious lounge area in the bow
  • Main deck with swimming pool and solarium
  • Upper deck with solarium
  • Resting and reading area with sofas
  • Area for loading and storing photo and video equipment
  • Dining and living room area of over 120m

After settled on the boat and a welcome drink the journey began.

We did the classic route that’s meant: South Male’, Vaavu Atoll, South Ari Atoll, North Ari Atoll and North Male’

In total I make 17 dives out of 21 dives because I had at the end of the liveaboard I had problems with equalise my ears.

The dives were great, sometimes hard because of the current. We saw many shark species, eagle rays, manta rays (by night), sea turtles and a lot more.

Unfortunately I didn’t see a whale shark on this trip, so I definitely have to go back to the Maldives at some point.

This trip was amazing but i will definitely be back.
